This mini class is created in acrylics using a texture medium to build beautiful texture (I used Powerwax, but you can just as easily use Heavy Gel Medium or any similar product).

Meet Your Instructor
Cold Wax Artist & Instructor
I’m Marina, a Dutch artist living in the South of France. Cold wax and oils are my first love, and I’m endlessly inspired by layers, texture, and the happy surprises that appear while painting.
In this class we use that same layered approach with acrylics and your preferred medium (Powerwax, Heavy Gel Medium, or another acrylic medium). You can even translate the same process to cold wax and oils: same techniques, different medium.
“Thank you so much Marina for this amazing workshop. This is my first time creating flowers and I have of course much more to learn about it. Anyway I’m happy so far!.”
— ANETTE S.
“This was a fun class! Several of these were "wipe- offs" but I remember Marina saying to scrape it off, if you don't like it. I'm excited to start more minis!”
— yvette p.
“This is so addictive. And my goal was not to use the phtalo turquoise. But I didn't succeed in that. And a little frame ads really a lot. Thank you so much for this course Marina Teding van Berkhout. I love it..”
— MAJOLIJN VAN W.

Not at all. This class is beginner-friendly and I guide you step by step through layering, texture, and intuitive flower painting.
Acrylic paints, a medium (Powerwax, Heavy Gel Medium, or similar), a palette knife/scraper, texture tools, and mixed media paper or a sketchbook.
Yes. In this class I demo with acrylics, but the same techniques can be used with cold wax medium and oils.
Absolutely. I recommend paper for this mini-series format, but you can use canvas or board and apply the same process.
Drying time depends on your medium, paint thickness, and climate. Acrylic layers are usually fast; oils will take longer.
Yes. You can add mark-making, collage, pigments, metallic touches, and your own tools to create unique textured surfaces.
You get lifetime access, so you can revisit the lessons any time and repaint the project in new color palettes.
