Module 1 - Introduction to painting with cold wax & acrylics
What is water-based cold wax (Powerwax) and why are we adding it to our paint? What ratio do we use? Does it affect the drying time? You will find the answers to your questions in this section.

What is the difference between the cold wax and other acrylic mediums?
There are many acrylic mediums that can create texture effects, but each one offers different results. What makes cold wax unique is how it makes your paints beautifully transparent and gives them a soft, matte finish that’s hard to achieve with other acrylic mediums. Mixing cold wax into your paints not only enhances the texture but also adds a distinctive, elegant touch to your artwork.

This painting class is suitable for beginners, I will show you a different way to paint with acrylics with clearly explained projects which are easy to follow and broken down step by step
What is I already have experience with cold wax - will I still benefit from this course?
If you have seen the effects of cold wax and oils and want to achieve similar results in your own work, this class is for you! It will encourage you to explore, experiment and develop your own unique painting style and add many new techniques to your painting process.
How does the course work, and can I complete it at my own pace?
This course offers direct, lifetime access, meaning it’s yours as soon as you sign up. You can start whenever it suits you and move through the lessons at your own pace. 'Self-paced' doesn’t mean you’re on your own—I’m here to support you! You can reach out anytime with questions or to share your work (even if it’s still in progress). There's no time limit, so you’ll have ongoing guidance as you grow and progress.
Where can I buy the Powerwax?
Powerwax is made by a company called Powertex. They are in Belgium but there are local representatives in many countries. You can find a list of the Powertex representatives HERE
What is water-based cold wax and can I make it myself?
The only water-based cold wax I have found is made by Powertex and is called Powerwax. Unfortunately I have not found a way to make it myself (like I do with the oil based cold wax medium) There is a Powertex representative in many countries, they have a lot of other fun products too!
When does the COLD WAX and ACRYLICS Course starts?
This course opens the 3rd of November at an Early Bird Price. The price will go up after the 13th of November. Once you bought the class, you will have lifetime access to the recorded tutorials, so you can watch them whenever you want, and as many time you wish. *lifetime means as long as the school is in business.
Why is the course only available to purchase in USD
The teaching platform that I host my courses on only allows for 1 currency option. I decided to opt for USD as my students are worldwide. Once you check out, the amount will be shown in your local currency.
Is there a community for the classes?

Do I need high speed internet for the classes?
Yes, you will need a good internet connection to view the video content for this course.
What if I am unhappy about the course?
Unfortunately, once you are enrolled in the course I am unable to offer a refund. I encourage you to contact me if you have any questions about the course prior to signing up.
What art supplies do I need?
I always encourage students to use the art supplies they have. In this class, you will need acrylics, water-based cold wax (Powerwax from Powertex) and a support like mixed media paper. The rest is optional and adds to the fun of mixed media painting.
How long will the videos be available?
You get lifetime access to the classroom and videos. "Lifetime" technically means for as long as my business is up and running. You can watch the videos within the classroom as many times as you wish. Make sure that your internet connection allows you to smoothly stream high resolution videos online. Refunds will not be made after registration.
